Senior Machinist (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in Cape Canaveral, Florida, United States. Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at a government partner location.

Salary: $41.73–$62.60 USD per hour

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment to manufacture precision components from engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications.
• Develop and prove out machining processes, including tooling, workholding, offsets, speeds, feeds, and first-piece inspection.
• Troubleshoot machining, dimensional, tooling, programming, and equipment issues in collaboration with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.
• Inspect and verify components using precision measurement and inspection equipment.
• Support the installation, setup, and commissioning of new machining equipment and establish repeatable production processes.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to machinists and operators while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience operating and setting up CNC and/or manual machining equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensions, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
• Experience with tooling selection, workholding, offsets, speeds and feeds, and cutting-tool selection.
• Experience independently developing or proving out machining setups and processes for new or modified parts.
• Experience using precision measurement and inspection equipment and troubleshooting machining or equipment issues.
• Ability to pass a US government-administered background check for on-site work.

Nice to have

• Experience programming CNC equipment, editing G-code, or optimizing CNC machining processes.
• Experience machining complex, tight-tolerance, prototype, or low-volume hardware in aerospace, space, defense, automotive, semiconductor, or other precision manufacturing environments.
• Experience installing, commissioning, or integrating CNC machinery.
• Experience providing technical leadership or mentorship to machinists or manufacturing personnel.
