Designer Associate (GIS/Utility Mapping)

Location: Irving, Texas, United States. Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Onsite in Irving for the first 2–3 months, then hybrid with Tuesday–Thursday onsite and Monday and Friday remote. Up to 15% travel and on-call storm support may be required.

Salary: $35/hour. 12-month contract.

What you will do

• Inspect and maintain AEGIS-OMS mapping data for new, modified, and expanded electric distribution projects.
• Ensure electric facilities, connectivity, graphics, and system records accurately reflect field conditions.
• Conduct data quality assessments, identify discrepancies, and develop corrective action plans.
• Coordinate with internal work groups and cross-functional stakeholders on projects and process improvements.
• Support storm restoration activities, including the required on-call storm schedule.
• Train team members on mapping tools, data management procedures, and best practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 3–7 years of experience in utility design, electric distribution, GIS/mapping, construction, engineering support, data quality, or project management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data discrepancies and system issues.
• Ability to manage assignments independently, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to safety, accuracy, and quality.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite in Irving initially, follow the hybrid schedule afterward, and support storm restoration when required.

Nice to have

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• Experience with utility mapping, electric distribution systems, GIS, OMS, or related platforms.
