Associate CQV Engineer

Location: San Carlos, California, United States

Salary: $68,700–$85,900 USD per year, plus additional compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Install, qualify, calibrate, maintain, and repair laboratory equipment, including liquid handlers, sequencers, plate sealers, and other instrumentation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot instrument failures to minimize production laboratory downtime.
• Perform Level 1 service and coordinate escalated issues with Level II engineers, vendors, automation teams, and laboratory personnel.
• Work with Quality Assurance to define IQ/OQ/PQ, calibration, preventive maintenance, and qualification requirements.
• Maintain service records and ensure documentation is complete, accurate, timely, and compliant with Good Documentation Practices.
• Follow safety, regulatory, quality management, HIPAA/PHI, and laboratory policies, including OSHA, CAP, and CLIA requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biological science, biomedical engineering, or a related field, or comparable industry experience.
• At least 1 year of industry-related experience and experience supporting laboratory equipment or similar systems.
• Ability to analyze and solve technical issues with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, teamwork, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent English communication skills; English proficiency at least B2 is required.
• Ability to complete required HIPAA/PHI, general compliance, security, and hirify.global training within the specified timeframes.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of DNA isolation and purification, PCR, cell culture, or sequencing.
• Experience operating laboratory automation or sequencing instrumentation.
