Staff Machine Learning and Bioinformatics Scientist (Multi-Cancer Early Detection)

What you will do

• Lead the development of statistical and machine learning methods for cancer signal detection using multi-modal genomic data.
• Build interpretable, well-calibrated models with robust uncertainty estimation and reproducibility.
• Prototype, test, and productionize ML models on scalable infrastructure.
• Own technical deliverables, contribute to the research roadmap, and drive methods from prototypes through clinical validation.
• Collaborate with molecular biologists and clinical experts on experiments and validation studies.
• Mentor junior scientists, review code and designs, and communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field, with 6–12 years of post-PhD experience.
• Experience developing novel statistical and ML methods for complex biological data.
• Technical leadership and innovation in complex method development projects.
• Expertise in deep learning and multimodal foundation models.
• Proficiency in Python and its scientific computing ecosystem.
• Scientific rigor, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach.

Nice to have

• Experience with DNA methylation and other epigenomic data.
• Experience with cell-free DNA and liquid biopsy samples.
• Background in cancer genomics and diagnostics.
• Hands-on experience applying multimodal foundation models to biological data.
