Machine Learning Scientist (AI)

Location: Hybrid, with at least three days per week in the San Francisco office. Relocation assistance is available for candidates willing to move to San Francisco.

Salary: $205,000–$300,000 base salary, plus potential equity.

What you will do

• Advance medical NLP research in conversation summarization, evidence extraction, outcome prediction, evaluation, and experimentation.
• Define important research problems, establish baselines, and develop state-of-the-art methods.
• Deliver machine learning solutions into production and contribute directly to healthcare products.
• Publish original research and contribute to the wider research community.
• Use clinician feedback to guide product refinements and research directions.
• Address ambiguous problems and uncertain outcomes with a results-oriented approach.

Requirements

• Strong research background demonstrated through publications and an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• High-impact peer-reviewed publications in AI and machine learning conferences.
• Significant real-world impact through open-source contributions or deployed technology.
• Strong programming skills and experience delivering machine learning solutions into production.
• Experience with PyTorch, Jax, or TensorFlow, multi-GPU training, and statistical analysis of observational and experimental data.
• Ability to work from the San Francisco office at least three times per week.
