PRN Automation Pharmacy Technician 4 (XR2) - On Call - Houston, TX

Location: On-site support at 6621 Fannin Street, Houston, TX 77030; occasional travel for training is required. The role supports a customer hospital site and requires an active California Pharmacy Technician license or registration.

Base compensation: $23.00–$25.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Operate and support hirify.global XR2 automation systems according to SOPs and best practices.
• Manage medication inventory, restocking, returns, and formulary accuracy.
• Inspect, clean, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting on automation equipment.
• Monitor system performance and escalate unresolved issues to the technical assistance center or helpdesk.
• Maintain documentation and compliance with Pharmacy Services policies.
• Communicate with pharmacy leadership and customers, provide subject-matter support, and maintain required certifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Active California State Board of Pharmacy Technician license or registration, as required by the state.
• Active national pharmacy technician certification such as PTCB, CPhT, or EXCPT.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy automation and proficiency with Windows, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and independent-working skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 35 pounds, work 8–10-hour shifts, and work around potentially hazardous drugs.

Nice to have

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
• Two or more years of hospital pharmacy automation experience.
• Experience troubleshooting automation systems and supporting pharmacy workflows.
