Distinguished Software Engineer (AI)

Location: United States; Bellevue Skyline Office, Bellevue, Washington; primary location in Sunnyvale, California

Annual salary: $169,000–$338,000, plus performance bonuses and possible stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native AI-powered software systems and intelligent automation solutions.
• Translate domain strategies into system-level implementations while maintaining architectural integrity and operational excellence.
• Champion DevOps and CI/CD practices, including monitoring, alerting, observability, and service resilience.
• Guide code reviews, architectural decisions, incident analysis, and resolution of architectural bottlenecks.
• Mentor engineers across teams and collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Drive automation, continuous improvement, and engineering velocity in support of seller success, customer experience, trust, safety, and growth.

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing and building scalable, cloud-native software systems with AI integration.
• Strong expertise in DevOps, CI/CD, resilient services, observability, and performance optimization.
• Proven ability to lead system-level technical execution and maintain architectural integrity.
• Effective mentorship, leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or a related area plus 6 years of software engineering experience, or 8 years of relevant experience.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant computer science or software engineering field plus 4 years of software engineering experience.
• Experience implementing WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
