Software Engineer (Firmware)

Location: Boise, Idaho, United States

Salary: $97,700–$144,400 per year for the Software Engineer level; Lead Software Engineer range: $115,300–$170,400 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, and document embedded firmware and software systems.
• Collaborate with RTL and hardware engineers to optimize firmware interactions.
• Develop clear requirements, robust designs, and thorough verification strategies.
• Mentor engineers, associate engineers, and technicians.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for internal customers and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to read and work from hardware schematics and datasheets.
• 6+ years of experience in embedded systems firmware, real-time firmware, or related engineering areas.
• Experience with C, C++, assembly, object-oriented design, and scripting languages such as Python.
• Experience or knowledge in RTL and FPGA development, digital communications, signal processing, electric power systems, industrial controls, or circuit design.
• Based in Boise, Idaho.
