Assistant Supervisor, Production (Manufacturing)

Location: Stockton, California, United States; onsite role on the production floor and in an office environment. Domestic travel up to 5% required. Relocation is not available.

Salary: $64,000–$102,400 per year

What you will do

• Lead, motivate, coach, and develop production employees through performance management, goal setting, feedback, and growth planning.
• Support the Production Supervisor in managing department employees and ensuring efficient, effective completion of work.
• Troubleshoot production issues through root cause analysis and promote a continuous improvement culture.
• Monitor workflow, productivity, errors, schedules, and process performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Create reports, spreadsheets, and presentations, and design programs that improve department efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintain a presence on the shop floor, guide leads and employees, delegate responsibility, and foster teamwork.

Requirements

• Four years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting required.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, manufacturing costs, and distribution practices.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods, including waste elimination, continuous improvement, 5S, Kaizen, Quality Built In, JIT, Kanban, and levelized production.
• Experience with process control analysis, testing, inspections, monitoring, and corrective action.
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, analyze data, and prepare reports and presentations.
• A two-year degree or technical school certificate in business, or equivalent experience, is preferred.
