Staff Failure Analysis Engineer (Server Hardware)

Location: Secaucus, New Jersey, United States; onsite role in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Salary: $93,000–$136,400 annually, plus potential performance-based bonus.

What you will do

• Lead complex failure-analysis investigations from failure reproduction through root-cause identification, containment, and corrective action.
• Troubleshoot server systems and components including CPUs, GPUs, DIMMs, PCIe, NVMe drives, FPGAs, NICs, power supplies, and PCBAs.
• Analyze test logs, repair and RMA records, manufacturing test data, and statistical quality and reliability information.
• Determine whether failures originate from hardware, firmware, software, workmanship, process, or design changes.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and test teams to improve test coverage, manufacturing processes, and product reliability.
• Support new product introduction, production ramps, reliability reviews, technology transfer, and technical mentoring for engineers and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant computer hardware industry experience and 2+ years executing tests and automating test cases.
• In-depth knowledge of datacenter servers and network technologies, with hands-on hardware repair, debugging, and failure-analysis experience.
• Experience with reliability testing, test methodologies, test plans, test cases, and statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of Linux, Bash scripting, Windows PowerShell, and Python is strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or systems engineering, or an equivalent combination of professional experience.
• Strong communication, analytical, cross-functional leadership, vendor-management, and technical documentation skills.
