Sr. Counsel, Insurance Litigation

Location: Chicago, Illinois; San Francisco, California; or Seattle, Washington, United States

Salary: $214,200–$315,000 USD annual base salary, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Manage a growing docket of litigated and pre-litigated personal injury and insurance matters.
• Develop scalable processes and procedures for efficient, consistent handling of personal injury matters.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests and dispositive motions.
• Coordinate with outside counsel on litigation strategy, work product, reporting, and budgets.
• Manage and develop legal teams while collaborating with business partners and the Director of Insurance Litigation.

Requirements

• J.D. degree.
• 8+ years of experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house legal department.
• Experience handling insurance litigation, coverage issues, and/or pre-litigation disputes.
• Knowledge of personal injury litigation, including document collection and production, witness preparation, and third-party subpoenas.
• Strong analytical, legal writing, organizational, communication, and team management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving environment while balancing legal risk and business considerations.
