Associate Sr. Counsel (Insurance Defense)

Annual base salary: $120,400–$198,700

What you will do

• Independently manage moderate- to high-complexity insurance defense litigation matters, including major cases where applicable.
• Prepare cases for trial, conduct jury trials, negotiate resolutions, and handle hearings, depositions, and other court proceedings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery materials, and other substantive legal documents.
• Perform legal research, case analysis, and develop handling recommendations for insured clients and Claims partners.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants, while maintaining internal and external client relationships.
• Mentor attorneys and legal support staff, provide legal training, and contribute to special projects.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• At least 4 years of experience as a practicing attorney; 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience preferred.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• Experience handling hearings, trials, dispositive motion arguments, depositions, or other court proceedings.
• Proven jury trial preparation or litigation experience, with strong oral advocacy, legal writing, negotiation, and case analysis skills.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on the location, with the ability to travel to court and other appointments.
