Counsel II, Litigation

Location: Hybrid in-office role in Santa Monica or San Francisco, California; office attendance is expected 4+ days per week.

Base salary: $178,000–$313,000 annually, depending on pay zone, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.

What you will do

• Manage a diverse range of complex litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Partner with in-house and outside counsel on substantive legal work and strategic decision-making.
• Manage discovery and eDiscovery, including voluminous document productions.
• Edit legal briefs, prepare witnesses, and negotiate settlements.
• Collaborate across litigation teams and with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Active membership in at least one state bar in good standing.
• 6+ years of complex litigation experience in private practice.
• Strong skills in brief-writing, legal strategy, discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and expert witnesses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, judgment, and case management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and provide solution-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced environment.

• Membership in the California Bar or eligibility for the California Bar’s Registered In-house Counsel Program.
• Trial experience.
