Discovery and Litigation Counsel

Location: Primarily Palo Alto, with hybrid remote flexibility; other listed locations include New York, San Francisco, Austin, Boston, Boulder, Century City, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Diego, and Seattle.

Salary: $163,200–$220,800 per year in Palo Alto, New York, and San Francisco; $147,050–$198,950 per year in Austin, Boston, Boulder, Century City, Delaware, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, San Diego, and Seattle. A discretionary year-end merit bonus may also be available.

What you will do

• Analyze and manage disputes and pre-litigation matters from initial fact investigation through resolution.
• Draft and respond to demand letters, legal correspondence, and other litigation-related documents.
• Work with outside counsel, opposing counsel, firm personnel, and internal departments.
• Respond to non-party subpoenas and other legal process.
• Manage document collection, review, litigation holds, and document preservation.
• Conduct legal research and support policies, training materials, ethics, and broader risk management work.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active bar license in California or another jurisdiction where hirify.global has an office.
• 3–6 years of litigation experience at a law firm.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, writing, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing shifting priorities.
• Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential and sensitive information.

• Experience with professional responsibility, risk management, or law firm loss-prevention matters.
