Engineering Manager - Infrastructure (Crypto)

Location: Full-time onsite at the New York City or Toronto office; on-call coverage is required from 8:00am–4:00pm ET.

Base salary: $220,000–$280,000 USD per year, plus equity, annual performance bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a small team of infrastructure engineers through 1:1s, coaching, feedback, career development, and hiring.
• Remain hands-on by pairing on complex problems, reviewing designs and code, unblocking delivery, and owning smaller infrastructure initiatives.
• Participate in the on-call rotation, lead production incident response, and drive postmortems and follow-up work.
• Build, shape, and execute the infrastructure roadmap with the Head of Infrastructure, translating goals into shippable milestones.
• Own KPIs for the reliability, resiliency, and uptime of critical services while identifying infrastructure risks and cloud cost optimization opportunities.
• Promote Infrastructure as Code, automation, documentation, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices across teams.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering on complex, high-stakes production systems.
• 2+ years of engineering people leadership, including 1:1s, feedback, and performance conversations.
• Extensive production experience securing, scaling, and operating Kubernetes with ArgoCD, GitOps, Grafana, and advanced Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or another major public cloud, strong Linux administration and networking fundamentals, and proficiency in a high-level programming language, preferably Go, with Bash scripting.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, on-call rotations, and incident response.
• Strong project management, cross-functional collaboration, and written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Security operations, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response experience.
• Experience with SOC or ISO compliance frameworks, audits, regulators, cloud cost optimization, and capacity planning.
• Deep observability experience with Prometheus, Alertmanager, Loki, or ELK.
• Experience hiring engineering talent and delivering internal tools or automation.
• Blockchain or crypto infrastructure experience, including running nodes or validators, and experience in financial services or regulated industries.
