Engineering Manager for Governance & Access

Location: Remote in the United States or Canada; San Francisco HQ.

Salary: $204,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead and grow the Governance & Access engineering team.
• Own the roadmap for governance, identity and access management, roles, permissions, compliance, and security capabilities.
• Define reusable platform primitives for agents operating on hirify.global, including identity, authorization, credentials, and delegation.
• Make technical and architectural decisions for access, identity, and governance systems.
• Build hiring and interview processes while partnering with recruiting, product, design, Security, and Growth and Expansion teams.
• Coach engineers through performance management, career development, and feedback.

Requirements

• Strong people leadership experience.
• Experience building and scaling an engineering team from an early stage.
• Track record of managing and developing engineers, including hiring and performance management.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and adapt as the team’s scope evolves.
• Ability to partner closely with product and design without taking over those functions.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States or Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with security, governance, access management, IAM, RBAC, or compliance.
• Exposure to AI agents or agentic systems.
• Experience managing senior IC5-level engineers.
• Background in developer platforms or B2B SaaS products.
