Mechanical Estimator (Data Center Construction)

Location: Remote for the majority of working hours, with some in-person collaboration, learning, and client or team relationship-building.

What you will do

• Develop standardized cost reporting frameworks and prepare estimate evaluation reports based on ROM, schematic, and construction pricing.
• Review project scopes against demarcation matrices and identify deviations, cost impacts, assumptions, and exclusions.
• Prepare WBS-aligned reports covering Site & Shell, Increment 0, and Increment 1-N construction phases.
• Analyze data center construction and security costs against market intelligence, parametric benchmarks, and value engineering options.
• Track design revisions and report their cost and schedule impacts.
• Build cost modeling tools and coordinate with client stakeholders, commodity teams, Central Estimating, and Energy Location Services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• At least 6 years of cost management or estimating experience.
• Experience with data center and commercial construction projects.
• Experience as a Cost Manager or Estimator on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Ability to provide high-level estimates for program planning, annual capital expenditure planning, and pipeline projects.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in CostX, Bluebeam, Excel, Accubid, Google Sheets, or Microsoft Excel.
• Experience estimating medium- and low-voltage electrical systems, including 480V, 277V, 120V, and 208V systems.
• Familiarity with fire alarm, security, EPMS, telecom, and fiber estimating.
• Experience with conceptual and hard-roll estimating, value engineering, market trends, and construction sustainability.
• Experience collaborating with CSA and Mechanical Estimators to produce combined client estimates.
