Client Office Phlebotomist Float-Full-time Days RM

Location: Various client sites in and around Geneva, Illinois; travel to additional sites is required. Work Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus two weekends per month, with flexibility for earlier or later client hours.

Salary: $20.25–$27.34 per hour, including float differential compensation.

What you will do

• Perform phlebotomy and other laboratory specimen collections for infant, adult, geriatric, and wheelchair-bound patients.
• Provide post-phlebotomy care, identify medical assistance needs, and follow patient-safety procedures.
• Label, process, transfer, and track specimens, requisitions, orders, results, and charges according to established protocols.
• Maintain refrigerator temperature, quality-control, quality-assurance, equipment, and corrective-action records.
• Coordinate with client office staff, laboratory personnel, physicians, and supervisors regarding timed draws, incomplete orders, results, and specimen issues.
• Travel between client sites and complete related clerical duties, including faxing, printing, filing, and releasing laboratory results.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization, training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, or at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to work full-time, including two weekends per month, and adjust hours for client needs.
• Ability to drive to client sites in the Geneva area and surrounding suburbs.
• Ability to collect specimens from a broad range of patient types and work independently while prioritizing multiple tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance are preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience processing and transferring laboratory specimens and operating a centrifuge.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
