IT Asset Specialist

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; travel to company locations and work in office or industrial environments as business needs require.

What you will do

• Create, maintain, validate, and update hardware and software asset records throughout their lifecycle in ServiceNow.
• Manage asset ordering, receiving, inspection, tagging, assignment, transfer, recovery, refresh, repair, recycling, resale, donation, and retirement.
• Reconcile ServiceNow data with physical inventories, procurement records, endpoint discovery data, and other source systems.
• Process onboarding, offboarding, deployments, equipment transfers, returns, refreshes, repairs, lost or stolen asset cases, and disposal requests.
• Support stockroom operations, inventory controls, shipping and receiving, vendor coordination, and technology procurement.
• Produce reports and dashboards, maintain audit evidence, identify process gaps, and contribute to standard operating procedures and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of ServiceNow or a comparable cloud-based ITSM platform, including asset records, requests, tasks, stockrooms, reporting, and lifecycle states.
• Understanding of IT asset management, configuration management, inventory control, procurement, warranties, repairs, recovery, and secure disposition processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word; experience with data extracts, filters, lookups, and reconciliation workbooks.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and reconciliation skills, troubleshooting ability, organization, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to protect confidential information and follow security, records retention, change management, procurement, chain-of-custody, legal hold, and disposition requirements.
• Two or more years of experience in IT asset management, inventory control, desktop support, IT service management, procurement operations, or a related field preferred; an associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred but relevant experience may substitute.

Nice to have

• ITIL, ServiceNow, Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP), or another IT asset management certification.
• Experience with physical inventory, data reconciliation, reporting, shipping and receiving, or equipment lifecycle activities.
