Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (React)

Location: Washington, DC, United States; on-site five days a week

What you will do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate customer-facing applications supporting subscription products.
• Develop React, JavaScript, and TypeScript applications for checkout, offers, paywalls, product pages, and subscriber lifecycle flows.
• Make frontend architecture decisions covering component design, state management, API integration, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Contribute to Java and Node.js backend services, RESTful APIs, integrations, automation, and tooling.
• Work with AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability, and production operations.
• Participate in on-call rotations, mentor engineers, and use AI-assisted tools across development, testing, troubleshooting, and automation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of frontend development with React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• 3+ years of backend development with Java, Node.js, or both.
• 2+ years deploying and operating applications in AWS, including services such as ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with responsive web development, accessibility, frontend performance, reusable components, state management, RESTful APIs, and automated testing.
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, containerized applications, observability, incident response, and on-call support.
• BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, plus significant hands-on use of AI-assisted engineering tools.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of frontend experience and 4+ years of backend experience.
• Experience with monorepos, shared component libraries, design systems, high-volume subscription or payment experiences, and native mobile integrations.
• Experience with Jenkins, AWS CDK, Terraform, Datadog, Catchpoint, and AWS-native monitoring services.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing architecture across team boundaries.
