Environmental Construction Manager (Renewable Energy)

Location: Remote within the United States, based near a Clearway office when applicable, with travel required up to 70%.

Salary: $115,000–$136,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual cash bonus.

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day construction activities across assigned solar, wind, and storage projects to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate between construction site teams, EPC contractors, subcontractors, and the Environmental department.
• Oversee implementation of environmental permits, SWPPP requirements, biological clearance protocols, SPCC plans, and other compliance measures.
• Lead pre-construction reviews, field inspections, corrective actions, and resolution of stormwater, spill, habitat, wetland, and species-protection issues.
• Manage consultants and contractors, including deliverables, budgets, performance, and quality-control reviews.
• Report construction progress, budget variances, and environmental compliance status to Construction and Environmental management.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in environmental construction or construction management in the wind and/or solar energy industry.
• At least 2 years of experience managing environmental compliance programs or scopes, including vendor and contractor coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of renewable energy construction practices, SWPPP implementation, biological clearance requirements, and hazardous materials handling.
• Knowledge of applicable regulations including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and SPCC requirements is desirable.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 70%; no visa sponsorship or employment authorization sponsorship is available.
