Security Architect (Cloud Security)

Location: Newton, MA, USA; in-person work three days a week or more, with flexibility to work from home or remotely at other times

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 per year, based on experience

What you will do

• Own the enterprise security architecture vision, roadmap, reference architectures, governance frameworks, standards, metrics, and security posture reporting.
• Design cloud and infrastructure security across AWS, GCP, hybrid, and on-premises environments, including IAM, Zero Trust, network segmentation, CSPM, CIEM, SIEM, vulnerability management, and threat detection.
• Lead secure software development and DevSecOps initiatives, integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines and guiding secure application architecture.
• Conduct threat modeling, risk analyses, audits, security assessments, and incident response while driving remediation and continuous improvement.
• Lead security architecture for emerging technologies, including AI and LLM initiatives, and advise stakeholders on technology risks.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, and executive leadership while mentoring teams on security practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience with deep cloud security expertise and experience leading enterprise security architecture in multi-cloud environments.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, GCP, IAM, least-privilege architecture, Zero Trust, VPC design, perimeter controls, encryption, key management, data-exfiltration prevention, centralized logging, and automated threat detection.
• Experience with web application security testing, network vulnerability scanning, container and Kubernetes security, Docker, Trivy or Aqua Security, penetration testing, and security auditing tools.
• Expertise in secure SDLC, DevSecOps, threat modeling, incident response, and security frameworks including NIST, COBIT, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and SOX.
• Ability to work from the Newton, MA office at least three days per week and lead security discussions with system architects and business leaders.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, or Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification.
• Experience leading security architecture for AI and LLM initiatives.
