Location: Medford, Massachusetts, with flexibility to be based near offices in the United States, United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, or China.

U.S. national base pay: $95,300–$158,800 annually. New York City: $114,300–$190,500 annually. Germany: €75,200–€125,500 annually. Amsterdam: €79,000–€131,500 annually. Annual incentive bonus eligibility applies.

What you will do

• Shape the aims, scope, priorities, and formats of the Device journal.
• Lead and manage the in-house editorial team.
• Coordinate rigorous evaluation of submissions and maintain the journal's research quality and impact.
• Use a global network of researchers to attract leading article submissions.
• Travel to conferences and research institutes to engage with the research community.
• Build partnerships with Cell Press editorial, Operations, Marketing, and Press teams.

Requirements

• Proven research expertise and broad interest across the multidisciplinary scope of Device.
• Deep international network of researchers and the ability to engage with and influence them.
• Ability to think conceptually and critically about a wide range of scientific issues.
• Proven organizational, project management, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Extensive editorial experience is valued; applicants currently holding academic positions are also encouraged to apply.
