Energy Manager (Energy Management)

Location: Peoria, IL or Irving, TX; onsite five days per week. Up to 25% domestic and international travel. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Salary: $147,760–$221,640 per year.

What you will do

• Lead energy management strategies covering energy supply markets, demand management, energy assets, sustainability, reliability, and cost optimization.
• Provide technical oversight for the CHP facility in Mossville, Illinois, and standby and peak-shaving generation assets in Monterrey and Torreón, Mexico.
• Lead utility interconnections, telemetry implementation, protective relay modifications, regulatory compliance, commissioning, and infrastructure modernization.
• Troubleshoot generator controllers, industrial automation systems, SCADA, telemetry, and remote monitoring capabilities.
• Support energy procurement, supplier development, contractor management, fleet readiness, preventive maintenance, and service logistics.
• Manage complex cross-functional projects involving Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Product Development, Environmental Health & Safety, and other organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Computer Science, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
• 12+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Strong knowledge of energy management, power generation, electrical systems, energy supply markets, or related disciplines.
• Experience leading complex technical projects and cross-functional initiatives, with strong communication, analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week in Peoria, Illinois, or Irving, Texas, and travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
• Ability to influence decisions and drive alignment across multiple organizations.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline.
• Experience with CHP, distributed generation, utility, microgrid, or industrial power generation systems.
• Experience with SCADA, telemetry, remote monitoring, industrial automation, generator controllers, or plant control systems.
• Experience with hirify.global gas engines, Solar Turbines technology, utility providers, energy regulators, or independent system operators.
• Spanish proficiency and experience supporting facilities in the United States and Mexico.
