Focus on collecting and preparing specimens, operating laboratory equipment, resolving collection issues, and maintaining safe healthcare workflows.
Location: Onsite at a client site in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, United States. Full-time schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30am–5pm; Tuesday from 10:30am–7pm; every other Saturday from 8:30am–12:30pm.
Salary: $19.81–$26.74 per hour

What you will do
- Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections according to age-related standards and clinical protocols.
- Process, label, centrifuge, aliquot, freeze, and package specimens while maintaining sample stability and integrity.
- Review physician orders and enter laboratory tests accurately across multiple systems.
- Verify test result receipt, retrieve patient information, and perform laboratory reception and clerical duties.
- Monitor equipment, refrigerator temperatures, quality records, supplies, and biohazard waste procedures.
- Communicate specimen-related issues with laboratory and physician staff while supporting patient safety and effective teamwork.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization, training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, at least one year of healthcare phlebotomy experience, or CMA certification.
- Ability to work the specified weekday, evening, and alternating Saturday schedule.
- Strong patient communication, customer service, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work onsite at the client location and comply with healthcare safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
Nice to have
- Experience with a broad range of patient types.
- Experience processing and transferring specimens and operating a centrifuge.
- Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
