Client Office Phlebotomist (Part-time Days)

Location: Client site in Fenton, Missouri, United States. Part-time schedule of 33 hours per week, primarily Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday during daytime hours. Travel to additional sites may be required.

Salary: $19.45–$25.29 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform blood draws and other laboratory specimen collections for infant, adult, geriatric, and wheelchair-bound patients.
• Provide post-phlebotomy care, identify medical assistance needs, and follow patient-safety procedures.
• Label, process, transfer, and track specimens according to laboratory protocols.
• Obtain physician orders, enter laboratory tests into computer systems, and follow up on outstanding orders, results, and charges.
• Maintain refrigerator temperature, quality-control, corrective-action, equipment, and safety records.
• Perform related clerical duties, communicate with laboratory and client-office staff, and support coworkers across departments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification from a nationally recognized organization or training from a phlebotomy school or medical institution, plus one or more years of healthcare phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to work the required daytime schedule and travel to additional sites when needed.
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations, prioritize tasks, multitask, and complete assignments independently.
• Professional communication skills and commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and organizational policies.

Nice to have

• Experience with a broad range of patient types and laboratory specimen processing, transfers, and centrifuge operation.
• Familiarity with medical EMR systems and medical terminology.
• Bilingual skills.
