Regional Field Service Manager (Electrical Engineering)

Location: Houston, Texas 77034; the new hire will sit in a Columbus, Ohio-based office and travel within the assigned region, including overnight stays.

Salary: $80,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead regional field testing, commissioning, maintenance, scheduling, crew deployment, and resource allocation across concurrent projects.
• Own regional revenue, profitability, utilization, budgeting, and operational performance targets.
• Oversee project execution, quality assurance, safety, compliance, and adherence to client specifications and applicable industry standards.
• Build client relationships, support proposals and scope negotiations, and identify regional business development opportunities.
• Manage Field Supervisors and field crews through recruitment, coaching, performance evaluations, retention, and professional development.
• Report regional performance to the Vice President of Field Services and support strategic planning and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent field experience may substitute.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in high-voltage field services, including testing, commissioning, and maintenance of substation equipment and protection and control systems.
• Experience managing regional or multi-project field operations, crew supervision, scheduling, and financial performance.
• Strong knowledge of relay testing, power system protection, substation commissioning, and NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, client relationship, and business development skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and willingness to travel within the assigned region, including overnight stays.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Regional or area-level P&L responsibility.
• Experience with Primavera P6, InEight, or similar project controls platforms.
• Experience in a multi-office or geographically distributed organization.
