Skilled Operator (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Ellesmere Port, United Kingdom; onsite at the Ellesmere Port manufacturing site with a 24/7 annualised-hours shift pattern.

Salary: £39,367 basic per year, plus £5,968 contracted overtime and £10,689 disturbance allowance per year.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain production equipment according to operating procedures and chemical-process standards.
• Support safe, efficient production in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001 standards.
• Provide planned and unplanned maintenance support.
• Carry out in-process adjustments and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Assist with production operations and work flexibly as part of the manufacturing team.

Requirements

• Electrical qualification preferred; a mechanical qualification will also be considered.
• Production or operational experience in an industrial environment, preferably in the chemical industry.
• Computer literacy and experience with maintenance management systems; SAP knowledge is preferred.
• Counterbalance forklift licence.
• Ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).

Nice to have

• MEWPs and PASMA certifications.
• Experience with Siemens hardware and programming, PLC, or SCADA systems.
• Apprenticeship-based electrical or mechanical training.
