Electrical Engineer III (Aerospace): Leading the design, development, integration, and validation of electrical and electronic systems for next-generation airborne command-and-control aircraft with an accent on flight test instrumentation, wiring design, avionics integration, and aerospace standards. Focus on overseeing testing, mitigating design and integration risks, guiding a small engineering team, and validating complex systems for aerospace and defense missions.

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado; office or hybrid environment. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Estimated starting salary: $71,338.47–$98,090.40 per year.

What you will do

  • Lead electrical wiring design and equipment selection for flight test instrumentation applications.
  • Prepare, review, and approve electrical engineering specifications, block diagrams, interface control drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Plan technical work, deliver engineering outputs, and provide guidance to a small team of electrical engineers.
  • Oversee bench, laboratory, ground, flight, and equipment testing, validation, and system integration.
  • Identify and mitigate design, integration, testing, and system safety risks.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and multidisciplinary teams through design reviews, test witnessing, and technical meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • At least 6 years of electrical engineering or related experience, including aircraft electrical or electronic systems.
  • Experience developing electrical and electronic system architectures and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and parts lists.
  • Experience with bench testing, laboratory integration testing, or aircraft-level ground and flight testing.
  • Ability to work independently, solve complex technical problems, communicate with technical and customer audiences, and guide a small team.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of aerospace and defense standards, avionics data buses such as ARINC 429, ARINC 664/AFDX, and MIL-STD-1553, and related integration tools.
  • Familiarity with FAA certification and STC processes, configuration management, EMC/EMI, HIRF, and indirect effects of lightning.
  • Experience with CATIA Electrical, circuit modeling, simulation, electrical system analysis, or Electrical Load Analysis.
