Protection & Control Engineer (High Voltage Substations)

Location: Hybrid role based in Mexico City, Mexico

What you will do

• Design relay protection, control, metering, and communication systems for high-voltage substations and transmission projects.
• Develop AC and DC schematic diagrams, including SCADA and communication interfaces for RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.
• Prepare specifications and bills of materials for protection, control, metering, RTU, and communication panels.
• Develop panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules for substations.
• Perform factory acceptance tests for protection and control panels and review engineering work completed by others.
• Coordinate design packages and technical requirements with engineering and design team members.

Requirements

• University degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• At least three years of experience in protection, control, or communications design for high-voltage substations.
• Experience with protective relay equipment used in substations.
• Knowledge of ANSI standards; knowledge of IEC standards is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Electrical AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Fluent English is required. Strong communication, teamwork, and self-management skills are expected.
