Electronic Trading Engineer (Fintech)

Location: New York, United States

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 per year, excluding bonuses, benefits, and other compensation.

What you will do

• Monitor automated trading and risk infrastructure, resolve real-time issues, and escalate incidents when necessary.
• Develop strategy features and deploy code changes through the standard review process.
• Design, run, and report on retail routing experiments.
• Provide overnight coverage during Asia hours and support the transition toward 23/5 trading.
• Partner with traders and developers across regions to improve system resilience.
• Build hands-on expertise in risk systems, order flow, and market structure.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience at a financial institution.
• A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field is preferred.
• Strong Python experience and experience working with large datasets in SQL.
• Calm decision-making under pressure, strong attention to detail, and a record of accurate, high-quality work.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with flexibility in time commitment.
• Ability to work from the New York location.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of US equity market structure, including venues, smart order routing, order types, and trade reporting.
• Experience with Java or C++.
• Statistical analysis experience.
