TL;DR

DB2 System Programmer (Mainframe): Installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing DB2 for z/OS subsystems in a mission-critical enterprise environment with an accent on replication, data sharing, high availability, and disaster recovery. Focus on tuning DB2 performance, troubleshooting subsystem and connectivity issues, and managing ZPARMs, buffer pools, logs, BSDS, catalogs, and directories.

Location: Chandler, AZ; Plano, TX; Charlotte, NC; or Jersey City, NJ. Hybrid schedule with three onsite days and two remote days per week; local candidates are preferred. Two interview rounds are mostly conducted in person.

Salary: $65–$70 per hour.

What you will do

Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, test, and document DB2 for z/OS subsystems.
Tune and optimize DB2 systems, including ZPARMs, buffer pools, logs, BSDS, catalogs, and directories.
Support DB2 replication products such as QRep, SQLRep, and CDC.
Manage DB2 Data Sharing, Sysplex, Coupling Facility, high availability, and disaster recovery environments.
Troubleshoot DB2 subsystem, performance, and connectivity issues using JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF.
Work onsite three days per week as required.

Requirements

7–12+ years of mainframe experience.
3–5+ years of DB2 systems programming or administration experience with DB2 for z/OS.
Experience with DB2 replication products, ZPARMs, buffer pools, logs, BSDS, catalogs, and directories.
Experience with DB2 Data Sharing, Sysplex, Coupling Facility, high availability, and disaster recovery.
Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
Proficiency with JCL, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF; local presence in one of the listed US locations and three onsite days per week are required.

Nice to have

Experience with SMP/E, DB2 utilities, performance tools, OMEGAMON, MainView, Endevor, ISPW, or z/OS Connect.
Experience with BMC DB2 tools, ADABAS, Natural, REXX, SQL, JIRA, RACF, TCP/IP, network certificates, Splunk, CICS, IMS, or MQ.
