Principal Software Engineer (MarTech)

Location: hirify.global Toronto One York; hybrid work with flexibility to work from the office and virtually based on business and client needs

Salary: CAD 100,000–143,000 base pay annually

What you will do

• Define the technical strategy for customer engagement and marketing technology platforms.
• Design customer data, audience management, journey orchestration, personalization, decisioning, and omnichannel activation capabilities.
• Establish Snowflake-based, warehouse-native activation patterns supporting marketing, digital, service, and advisor experiences.
• Design APIs, microservices, event-driven services, and scalable integrations across SaaS, enterprise, mobile, and web systems.
• Influence platform roadmaps, architecture decisions, modernization initiatives, and build-versus-buy assessments.
• Lead engineering excellence through DevSecOps, CI/CD, testing, observability, automation, and technical mentorship.

Requirements

• Deep experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale MarTech solutions, including CDPs, journey orchestration, marketing automation, personalization, decisioning, identity, consent management, and omnichannel activation.
• Experience with Snowflake or modern cloud data platforms and warehouse-native, composable architecture patterns.
• Strong understanding of customer data models, APIs, integrations, event-driven architecture, Kafka, and streaming technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript, APIs, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including Staff, Principal, or equivalent technical leadership experience.
• Ability to influence multiple teams, communicate complex technical concepts, mentor engineers, and balance delivery with long-term platform strategy.

• Experience with Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Target, Hightouch, Salesforce Data Cloud, or Braze.
