Software Engineer, Web3 Backend

Location: Toronto, Canada; in-person attendance required at least 3 days per week

Base pay range: CAD 136,000–160,000 per year, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services, infrastructure, and data systems for wallet, tokenization, and Web3 platform products.
• Connect traditional market infrastructure, including brokerage systems, ledgers, and corporate actions, with on-chain systems.
• Develop smart contract integrations, chain indexers, DEX trading flows, and product-facing platform features.
• Ensure correctness, auditability, scalability, idempotency, and reliable handling of failure modes in systems moving customer assets.
• Improve system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, client, platform teams, and external partners.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Backend development expertise in Go, Python, or Java.
• Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures, system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience delivering high-quality projects end to end and working effectively across functions.
• Ability to simplify complex problems, make sound tradeoffs, and align diverse stakeholders.
• Interest in blockchain fundamentals such as EVM, smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain settlement, or the ability to learn them quickly.
