Internship - E-Fuels Development (m/f/d) (Internal Combustion Engines)

Location: Austria, Engineering Jenbach

Base pay: At least EUR 2,755.26 gross per month, paid 14 times per year

hirify.global develops gas engines and related power-generation technologies in an international engineering environment.

What you will do

• Improve steady-state and transient internal combustion engine performance through simulation and testing.
• Support gas engine development projects focused on power, efficiency, fuel flexibility, emissions, transient behavior, cost reduction, and operating strategies.
• Support 1D simulation activities focused on e-fuels.
• Assist with in-house testing of single- and multi-cylinder engines, including mixture preparation, gas exchange, ignition, combustion, and turbocharging.
• Analyze investigation results and field data, interpret findings, draw conclusions, and prepare reports.
• Work with controls, design, mechanical engineering, exhaust gas aftertreatment, and test-bench functions.

Requirements

• Currently studying mechanical engineering or a similar discipline.
• Strong motivation and the ability to work independently.
• Enthusiasm for and basic knowledge of internal combustion engines.
• Basic skills for working in a global matrix organization.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Full-time availability for at least 6 months starting in 2027, in Austria.

• Experience with GT Suite.
• Interest in combining the internship with a Master's thesis.
