Data Engineer (Healthcare Encounters)

What you will do

• Own the technical encounters workflow and Encounters Solution Architecture.
• Build scalable encounter files and data pipelines for delivery to external partners.
• Ingest and process inbound response files.
• Create systems to measure encounter completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and performance.
• Use SQL and Python to develop, automate, validate, and troubleshoot data workflows.
• Partner with internal teams to improve operationally critical encounter processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional experience building with SQL and Python.
• Professional experience with data warehousing, data modeling, star-schema modeling, and report design.
• Experience with AWS data services, including Redshift, Athena, S3, DMS, Glue, or SageMaker.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow and with high-scale or high-expectation engineering environments.
• Demonstrated ownership and ability to design and implement solutions in a rapidly transforming environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare data exchange, external submissions, response processing, or performance measurement.
• Direct encounters experience within a payer, state agency, healthcare organization, or comparable environment.
• Ability to take end-to-end ownership of an operationally critical data workflow.
