TL;DR
Forward Deployed Data Engineer (Snowflake/Healthcare Data): Designing and implementing governed, analytics-ready data models, pipelines, and integrations for health plan clients with an accent on Snowflake, payer data, and healthcare interoperability standards. Focus on translating ambiguous client requirements into scalable technical designs, advising senior stakeholders, and solving complex data mapping and integration challenges across claims, eligibility, provider, and care management systems.
Location: United States; work from anywhere is offered, with on-site client work required as engagements demand.

What you will do
- Design and implement data models, ETL/ELT pipelines, and integrations for governed, analytics-ready payer data.
- Build primarily on Snowflake while working with Databricks, Spark, cloud data services, APIs, and integration frameworks.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs for ingestion, standardization, and analytics-ready data products.
- Work directly with client data, IT, business stakeholders, and senior leaders; lead discovery sessions and workshops.
- Advise on claims, eligibility, member, provider, encounter, and care management data across commercial and government lines of business.
- Capture reusable patterns and contribute to data-modeling standards, playbooks, and delivery practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, solution engineering, or a related technical role.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT, databases, data pipelines, integrations, and analytics solution design.
- Proficiency with SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, cloud data services, APIs, and integration frameworks.
- Experience with healthcare payer data, including claims, eligibility, member, provider, encounter, or care management data.
- Familiarity with FHIR, HL7, EDI, and healthcare data exchange patterns.
- Strong client engagement, facilitation, requirements-gathering, communication, and structured problem-solving skills; ability to work on-site with clients as needed.
Nice to have
- Consulting, professional services, or client-facing delivery experience.
- Snowflake or Databricks certifications.
- Experience with data governance, master data management, or data quality frameworks.
- Familiarity with CMS, Medicaid, or Medicare data requirements.
