Data Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Build and maintain centralized data systems, including data pipelines, warehouses, lakes, and data hubs.
• Assemble complex datasets and develop extraction, transformation, and loading infrastructure from diverse data sources.
• Use SQL, event-based systems, and AWS big data technologies to optimize data flow and delivery architecture.
• Create analytics tools and reports supporting customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and business performance analysis.
• Support data-related technical issues across cross-functional teams and create tools for product development.
• Keep data separated and secure across national boundaries, data centers, and AWS regions.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in data engineering.
• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
• Strong Python coding and advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with big data systems, data pipelines, data architectures, datasets, and ETL tools.
• Familiarity with AWS, Linux, NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch, and event-streaming platforms such as Kafka.
• Strong analytical, communication, project management, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
