Mechanics Designer, New Business, Access Control Solutions (Access Control)

What you will do

• Develop mechanical designs for access control products from initial product ideas through global launch and volume production.
• Conduct feasibility studies, concept development, manufacturability analysis, testing, verification, and certification support.
• Design products using die casting, injection molding, sheet metal, electronics packaging, RF and antenna integration, and heat management.
• Develop solutions for ease of use and installation, user interaction, and resistance to vandalism, dust, water ingress, and corrosion.
• Collaborate with product owners, project managers, electronics engineers, industrial designers, UX specialists, sourcing, software developers, quality assurance, and technical writers.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant mechanical design or product development experience.
• University degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Strong 3D modeling and mechanical design experience with both plastics and metals.
• Experience developing complete products from concept through volume production.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and taking a leading role.

Nice to have

• Experience in consumer electronics development.
