Mechanical Design Engineer (Heat Pumps)

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, bills of materials, and component selections for heat pump systems and accessories.
• Produce technical documentation, including 3D models and 2D drawings, using mechanical design and PLM tools.
• Develop electronics enclosures using plastic injection molding and sheet metal.
• Explore materials and tooling methods to improve product quality, sustainability, and reliability.
• Contribute to project planning, progress reporting, product requirements, regulatory compliance, testing, verification, and qualification.
• Collaborate with product management, industrial designers, suppliers, development partners, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements

• Solid experience in mechanical design, product development, or mechanical engineering.
• B.Sc. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Design and Product Development, or an equivalent field.
• Experience designing mechanical components in a 3D environment; SolidWorks experience is advantageous.
• Experience with consumer products involving electronics and embedded software, including testing, reliability, and qualification.
• Experience taking designs from conceptual development and prototyping through mass production.
• Experience working with industrial designers and presenting ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLM tools, SolidWorks, plastics, sheet metal, PowerPoint, or Adobe tools.
• Experience with physical prototyping, hands-on testing, and sustainability-focused product development.
