Mechanical Design Engineer (Heat Pumps)

What you will do

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, bills of materials, and component selections for heat pump systems and accessories.
• Create technical documentation, including 3D models and 2D drawings, using mechanical design and PLM tools.
• Support the full product development cycle from concept and prototyping through testing, verification, qualification, and manufacturing preparation.
• Design electronics enclosures for PCBAs and related components using plastic injection molding and sheet metal.
• Collaborate with industrial design, engineering, product management, suppliers, and development partners to meet customer, regulatory, and product requirements.
• Explore materials and tooling methods that improve product quality, sustainability, reliability, size, performance, and cost.

Requirements

• Solid experience in mechanical design, product development, or mechanical engineering.
• B.Sc. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Design and Product Development, or an equivalent field.
• Experience designing mechanical components in a 3D environment; SolidWorks experience is advantageous.
• Experience with consumer products involving electronics and embedded software, including testing, reliability, and system qualification.
• Experience taking designs from conceptual development and physical prototyping into mass production.
• Experience working with industrial designers and presenting ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
