Senior Manager, Application Development

Location: Toronto, ON; the proportion of onsite and remote work will be discussed during the interview.

What you will do

• Manage multiple application development projects, development groups, and application support functions for a major line of business.
• Oversee the development, testing, and implementation of organization-wide systems and application programs.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of developers and testers while managing resources, budgets, vendors, and third-party integrations.
• Monitor service levels, application quality, delivery standards, and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with clients, application owners, and internal business teams to define requirements and deliver technology solutions.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of hands-on experience in .NET/C# application development, SQL Server design and optimization, data technologies, BI tools, and scalable ETL pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of Azure, REST APIs, microservices, software architecture, DevOps, environment and release management, security, compliance, and delivery pipelines.
• Experience with Informatica, Azure SQL, Cognos, Power BI, Databricks, Jira, and Azure DevOps.
• At least 4–5 years of experience leading developers and testers, including coaching, team development, resource planning, and people management.
• Experience with large-scale projects or programs, budgeting, vendor management, third-party solution integration, and SOLID software design principles.
• Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, hold a valid work or study permit.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with foundation AI models and integrating AI/ML solutions into enterprise applications.
• Experience with AI model fine-tuning, customization, and AI-powered coding agents such as GitHub Copilot.
