Chief Engineer, Defense Antenna Systems Sustainment & Modernization

Location: Duluth, Georgia, United States. This is a US Government position requiring US citizenship and an active DoD TS/SCI clearance. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Salary: $180,500–$285,000 annually. For specific locations in San Jose, the San Francisco Bay Area, and the New York City metropolitan area: $224,500–$336,500 annually.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical authority for complex defense antenna systems sustainment and modernization programs.
• Lead systems engineering across RF communications, antenna systems, network infrastructure, software, cybersecurity, and mission architectures.
• Direct multidisciplinary engineering teams covering systems, software, RF, hardware, cybersecurity, testing, field engineering, and logistics.
• Lead technical reviews, requirements management, configuration control, engineering changes, integration, verification, validation, and operational testing.
• Manage technical risks, field performance issues, corrective actions, reliability, maintainability, availability, DMSMS, and obsolescence.
• Act as the senior technical interface for government customers, prime contractors, subcontractors, and operational users while mentoring engineering teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering, architecture, chief engineering, or technical leadership for complex defense systems.
• Experience as a Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, or Technical Director, including leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle methods, requirements development, technical baselines, configuration management, engineering change processes, and technical risk management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or equivalent technical experience.
• US citizenship is required for this US Government position.
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance is required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with SIGINT, SATCOM, ISR, space, RF antenna systems, ground terminals, telemetry, or satellite communications infrastructure.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, RMF, ATO processes, secure system design, MBSE, DevSecOps, RAM analysis, and sustainment engineering.
