Development Engineer (UAV Mechanical Design)

Location: On-site in Gilching, Bavaria, Germany

hirify.global develops, designs, and produces electric vertical take-off and landing small unmanned aerial systems for defence, security, and public-sector applications, integrating edge computing and real-time AI-powered data processing.

What you will do

• Develop and design UAV structural components and manufacturing tools using CATIA V5.
• Perform design calculations with MATLAB, Python, VB.NET, and Excel.
• Create technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Integrate subsystems and payloads into UAVs at the hardware level.
• Construct and test prototypes, support small-series production, and maintain products.
• Develop the Mechanical Hardware Design department’s process chain.

Requirements

• University degree in aerospace, mechanical, or automotive engineering.
• At least 2 years of practical experience in CAD development and work with a PLM system.
• Good working knowledge of CATIA V5 and familiarity with common plastics manufacturing processes.
• Self-motivated, independent, open, communicative, and technically competent working style.
• Ability to work on-site in Gilching, Bavaria, Germany.
• English communication skills are required.
