Journalist, BBC Radio Jersey

Location: Jersey; candidates must be entitled to live and work in Jersey. The role includes weekday and weekend shifts, including early mornings, and requires work with studios, production desks, and broadcast vehicles.

Salary: £28,000–£35,000 per year plus Channel Island Weighting, depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.

What you will do

• Produce radio bulletins and programmes for weekday and weekend schedules.
• Research guests and topics, generate programme ideas, and develop original local stories.
• Read news bulletins, report on stories, and contribute content across digital, audio, and TV platforms.
• Record and edit multi-track audio and update hirify.global Sounds programme information.
• Operate on-air studios, production desks, broadcast systems, and broadcast vehicles.

Requirements

• Experience in radio, audio, or multimedia content production, including story research and editorial development.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to read news bulletins clearly and accurately.
• Experience recording, editing, and producing audio content.
• Understanding of digital and broadcast production workflows.
• Technical aptitude and willingness to operate broadcast equipment, production systems, and studio technology.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a small team and follow a flexible schedule including early mornings and weekends.
