Senior Producer, Crime (Broadcasting)

What you will do

• Produce crime, policing and justice coverage across formats, with a digital video-first focus.
• Develop story treatments from initial brief through research, scripting, filming, editing and delivery.
• Monitor crime, policing, court and justice developments to identify nationally relevant and investigative stories.
• Shape interviews, sequences, visual evidence, archive, graphics and explainers with correspondents.
• Ensure content meets legal and editorial requirements, including reporting restrictions, identification and handling of distressing material.
• Deliver accurate, verified and platform-optimised content at pace for breaking stories.

Requirements

• Strong editorial judgement across crime, policing, courts and justice coverage.
• Experience handling investigations and understanding legal and compliance risks.
• Strong production skills in scripting, shooting, editing, picture selection, graphics and digital delivery.
• Excellent verification, research and source-handling skills.
• Sensitivity when working with victims, witnesses, bereaved families, vulnerable people and affected communities.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and collaborate with editorial, technical, legal and compliance teams.
