Research Associate I (Histology)

What you will do

• Perform tissue fixation, processing, paraffin embedding, microtomy, sectioning, and slide preparation.
• Conduct routine and special stains, including H&E, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and RNAscope when applicable.
• Handle animal and human tissues and biological specimens according to established protocols.
• Support the in vivo pharmacology team with tissue evaluation and microscopic morphology assessment.
• Troubleshoot tissue processing, sectioning, staining, and IHC issues, implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain study documentation, sample tracking, experimental data, reports, and scientific presentations.

Requirements

• BS degree with 0–2 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience in histology or histopathology laboratory techniques.
• Practical experience with tissue fixation and processing, paraffin embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, slide preparation, and quality assessment.
• Understanding of tissue morphology, histological structures, and pathological changes.
• Proficient spoken and written English is required.
• Strong documentation, communication, organizational, attention-to-detail, and problem-solving skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Nice to have

• Experience with special stains and immunohistochemistry.
