What you will do

• Provide daily husbandry, feeding, watering, welfare monitoring, chamber cleaning, and maintenance for non-human primates.
• Conduct behavioral observation, training, and experimental data collection.
• Assist with surgeries, pre- and post-operative care, and MRI procedures under senior researcher direction.
• Prepare laboratory materials, sterilize supplies, and maintain equipment according to established protocols.
• Support environmental health and safety compliance, including preparation for laboratory inspections.
• Collaborate with researchers, postdocs, and technicians while contributing to existing research programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, or a closely related life sciences field.
• 0–2 years of research experience as a research technician or in a comparable role.
• Comfort working regularly with animals, particularly non-human primates.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, and independent working skills after initial training.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse colleagues in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary research environment.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role and work around potential laboratory hazards, including chemicals, low-dose radiation, and biological contaminants.

Nice to have

• Prior animal care or laboratory technical assistant experience.
• Familiarity with animal care protocols and IACUC compliance.
• Coursework or additional background in neuroscience or a related discipline.
