Support Consultant (Software Support)

Location: Nottingham, United Kingdom. Candidates must have a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

What you will do

• Provide second-line software application support for CONNECT Police customers.
• Investigate complex application incidents and reproduce scenarios in internal test environments.
• Identify, document, and communicate workarounds and contribute to permanent fixes.
• Work within contractual SLAs and ITIL-aligned support procedures.
• Collaborate with NEC teams and third parties, including participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota.

Requirements

• Experience supporting, developing, or testing complex bespoke software applications.
• Experience working in a structured, process-driven environment and using an IT service management tool.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• Experience investigating data issues in relational databases and creating or manipulating SQL scripts.
• Ability to check log files and restart services on Microsoft Windows and UNIX Solaris systems.
• Pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK; documentary evidence is required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Microsoft Windows Server, UNIX Solaris, Java, Ensemble, Microsoft .NET, SQL, Oracle, JetNEXUS, JavaScript, HTML, and ActiveMQ.
• Experience in an ISO 9001/ISO 20000 accredited environment.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites when required.
