Physical Security Transformation Professional (Genetec)

Location: Hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office, based in Northampton, Bletchley, Birmingham, or Ipswich, UK. Ipswich is available only to existing BT staff.

What you will do

• Lead the operational maturity and adoption of Genetec Security Center across PSOC, access control, video, and alarm-monitoring services.
• Provide hands-on triage and escalation for Genetec, Mission Control, CCTV, access control, alarm integrations, and legacy monitoring platforms.
• Drive physical security transformation, service improvements, operational standards, and adoption of simpler ways of working.
• Coordinate suppliers, delivery teams, vendors, and internal technical teams through service restoration and operational handover.
• Support risk-controlled migration, coexistence, and decommissioning of legacy monitoring systems used by operational sites and retail stores.
• Engage senior stakeholders, including Director-level stakeholders, Group ExCo, the Security Council, and BARC.

Requirements

• Experience embedding transformational change across systems, processes, and people, including translating user needs into requirements for Agile delivery teams.
• Experience supporting or delivering 24x7 physical security or network operations in complex, multi-site environments.
• Practical Physical Security Operations Center experience covering incident and problem resolution, service improvement, supplier management, operational handover, SLAs, KPIs, and user outcomes.
• Experience with legacy access control, CCTV, intruder detection, and alarm-signalling technologies during migration.
• Substantial practical experience in physical security operations and Genetec Security Center.
• Ability to work from a UK office 3 days per week in Northampton, Bletchley, Birmingham, or Ipswich; Ipswich is restricted to existing BT staff.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Genetec Security Center architecture, including OmniCast, Synergis, federation and integration concepts, event-to-action workflows, and Mission Control.
• Experience with data-driven problem solving, risk management, supplier management, and cross-functional delivery.
• Experience translating operational requirements into software team backlogs and working with Agile delivery teams.
• Network operations or formal transformation and change qualifications.
