What you will do

• Write and present hourly radio news and weather bulletins for hirify.global Radio Wales.
• Read sport news as part of regular news bulletins, working with sport and weather colleagues.
• Gather information and support coverage of breaking and developing news stories.
• Plan, pitch, and report original stories for online, television, and radio output.
• Apply editorial judgement and collaborate with the multi-platform newsroom while working independently when required.

Requirements

• Ability to write and present high-quality hourly radio news, weather, and sports bulletins.
• Strong editorial judgement in identifying, prioritising, and treating news stories appropriately.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines while supporting breaking news coverage and newsgathering.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-platform newsroom.
• Confidence using broadcast systems and technology.
• A 90-second recorded news bulletin must be submitted as part of the application.

Nice to have

• Online copywriting skills.
• Welsh language skills; these are not required.
• Original story ideas.
